Fragment 16

Fragments #16 — I’m Doing Alright

A field note on appreciating a quieter, healthier season while continuing to build with faith and consistency.

I have spent so much of my life thinking about what comes next.

The next goal.

The next version of me.

The next door I need to walk through.

There is nothing wrong with looking ahead. I believe we are supposed to grow. I believe we are supposed to evolve, become wiser, and keep moving toward the person God is calling us to be.

But lately, I have been learning how important it is to be present while becoming.

Not every season is meant to be rushed through.

Some seasons are meant to restore you.

This season of my life has been quieter. It has been filled with more peace, better health, clearer thinking, and a deeper appreciation for what I have already survived. There are still goals in front of me. There are still parts of myself I am working to strengthen. But I no longer feel like I am constantly fighting my own life.

That matters.

For a long time, discipline meant pushing. It meant getting up, doing the work, and refusing to let my feelings control my direction.

It still means those things.

But discipline has also become staying consistent when life is calm. It is protecting the peace I worked hard to earn. It is continuing to train, write, build, pray, and prepare without needing chaos to motivate me.

Consistency is not always dramatic.

Sometimes it is simply showing up again because you believe the future you are working toward is real.

I do believe that.

I am optimistic about where my life is going, not because I expect everything to be easy, but because I trust who I have become through everything that was difficult.

New doors are beginning to open. New possibilities are becoming visible. I can feel that I am entering a different season of my life.

I do not know every detail of what is coming.

Faith does not require me to.

My responsibility is to remain ready. To keep my mind clear. To maintain my standards. To continue doing the work in front of me and trust that I will recognize the right doors when they open.

I have changed a lot over the years.

Even over the last few months, I have become more grounded, more disciplined, more patient, and more intentional. I still have work to do, but I no longer look at myself only through the lens of what is missing.

Sometimes I stop and recognize the truth:

I am healthier.

I am at peace.

I am creating.

I am moving forward.

I am becoming.

And through all of it, I think I am finally learning to appreciate where I am without losing sight of where I am going.

I am not finished.

I was never supposed to be.

But I am present. I am consistent. I have faith in what is ahead.

And you know what?

I’m doing alright.
