Day 17: I Do (Reflecting)

I’ve heard, I’ve listened, I’ve read, I’ve written—now I do

Today, December 21st. I have risen with positivity and calm. I give thanks for life, rest, and good sleep.

I have a main objective I’m set out to accomplish today. Last night, I went over this task, and this morning I decide to take care of it. I decide and I do.

I’m getting used to being decisive and carrying out what needs to be done. I’ve changed, and I see it more and more each day — the decisions I make and the timely manner I approach them and settle them.

I’m really proud of myself. I no longer procrastinate. I know what needs to be done and I get busy on the task. I no longer have to feel like it — I just do.

Action creates the opportunity. It creates discipline and repetition. I’m faithful to repetition and discipline. It has forged me.

I am patient, always learning from the learning experiences. I audible when need be, because that’s what life has taught me. Things will not always go the right way, so I prepare and plan. Failing to do so — well, that would be planning to fail.

I’ve experienced scattered plans, not planning at all, and drifting. No more do I drift. I think. I plan. I execute. I do.

I head out into the world. In San Francisco, the heavens have begun watering the trees. I decide to take a nice walk.

While out, I see the world through new eyes — a new perspective, a changed mind. The busy flow of people, cars passing and puddles splashing, the sound of rain so calming and mild. I feel blessed to be a part of life, and so when walking, I smile.

I have seen and lived in the shadow. Now finally, I rise.

I love life, and even though I’ve had to experience harsh times, they have truly helped me more than hurt me. They have strengthened me, instilled in me something that can’t be bought or stolen away.

So to life I say: Thank you.

I do.

I finish my task, and in it all, things work out just how I expected them to. I am thankful and grateful for all.

Things are happening right on time in my world, and it all started when I changed my mind. I starved the things that were a hindrance to my growth. I got to planting, and I’ve been tending to my garden faithfully. I don’t leave it to chance — I make it a study. After deciding the best route, I just do.

The key to your better future is you.

Jim was right, and I owe him and many other teachers. I’ve heard. I’ve listened. I’ve read. I’ve written. And now I do.
