The following is an entry from a lost, now found journal I’ve had along this journey.
February 2nd, 2025
This month I will let go and I will change. I am new in body, spirit, and mind. I’m letting go of the old me and all my old ways, my old ways of thinking. I’m letting go of the old Garry and I’m embracing my authentic self — my movements and how I love myself.
I love myself and I will not let anyone stop my happiness. I owe myself this much: to be good to myself and show love to others, as that’s all I’ve wanted to do.
I don’t hate anyone or any particular people. I discern. It’s okay for me to have a preference in the kind of people I allow into my world. I like happy, helpful, joyous, upbeat, givers, and sharing. People who are of good report and are naturally easygoing and want to see the best for each other — that/those are the people I want in my life.
I love light. I like good people. People that understand we are all family and have done the work to become better. Responsible — not blaming others for bad times or difficulties in life — but people that learn their lessons and pick themselves up and keep moving.
I hate to be stagnant. I dislike waiting too long for the bus — I might start walking just to move. That’s all we are anyway: emotion — energy in motion. So when I think back on past times and remember hearing “You’re too emotional,” I just laugh.
Thank you, Father, for I am thankful and I am grateful for all.
