Day 22: December 26th
Last 5am alarm of the winter. I was already awake at 4:40am, looking forward to this workout, but laid back down resting lightly.
Today I not only prove to myself that I’m consistent but solidify that I’m disciplined more so than ever. I’ve started, stopped, started, stopped. My last tour (3 months straight workouts) was May — July. I took a longer-than-expected break and spiraled into a slump. I talk more about this on my YouTube channel @TiplersTalks.
Here I am — better than ever, with no limit on building myself stronger, wiser, more confident, more disciplined, kinder to myself. Systems I have put in place, structure and habits. My repetition is obsessive (smiles). I love it! I love myself and I am responsible.
My final workout of December was excellent, and I brought it home with focus and feeling each muscle move. I extended my shower time this morning, feeling really good.
Then I remembered why. I slept in my bed for the first time last night. And what a smile it put on my face. I don’t think I’ve smiled this hard and wide in a long time.
Laying down and having the foam contour to my body felt like a plush, warm hug. To say how happy and grateful I am — well, I almost cried. I just kept saying, “Thank you, Father.” I’ve asked about this for a long time.
No more floor. No more body aches. No more.
I know it’s such a small thing, but I am grateful. I don’t overlook the small things in life. I’m thankful for all.
Work was smooth. People are getting to know me more. They remember my name. They tell me, “I like when you work” and “You carry yourself well. Were you in the military?” — the most asked question (lol). No, but I do move quite militant.
After work, I got errands done and even managed to get in a nice walk — from Chinatown to North Beach on to Pier 39. I grabbed food: roasted chicken at a chicken spot I’ve never been. I even grabbed a slice of pecan pie and said, “What the heck, I’ll take a slice of cheesecake too.”
I’m living now. I’m happier than I’ve been in some time. Simple pleasures bring me all kinds of joy some people wouldn’t understand. But when you’ve been down for a while and you come up, the world is new again.
I like what I saw on a bag on my way to work today: “Live Your Life.” That’s perfect, and that’s what I do.
I don’t have time to judge or entertain negativity. I’m busy building me, each and every day. I’m really enjoying the process. Everything happens in perfect time. Nothing is an accident. Our world is very structured, and I obey, for life has taught me well.
The only advice I can give to anyone is: It is you that has to change. If you don’t change, nothing will change for you, and you’ll be in a constant loop.
Change. You’ll wish you did it sooner.
