Day 13 : Today Has Been a Good Day

When you feel terrific, terrific things happen

Wednesday, December 17th. I have risen early with a surge of energy and enthusiasm. I usually sleep in on Wednesdays — my rest day between workouts.

All through the night, I have said like a mantra: “Today will be a good day.” I must have said this till I fell asleep. With other goals on my mind, I get worked up and find myself almost chanting.

Today was like no other. Why, you might ask? I literally sprung up to my feet, stretched, and headed right for the shower. I felt ridiculously good.

  • In my shower session, I have taken note from my favorite teacher, Mr. Tracy, and repeat: “I feel terrific, I feel terrific, I feel terrific.” I’m scrubbing away and my whole body feels amazing. I feel new. Minor aches and soreness I sometimes would feel — none existent.
  • I wrap up and go to meditate and pray. I am always thankful and always grateful, always. I have been long before my transformation. I have noticed even back then that me always being thankful has served me well. I’m that way because I really am thankful to the fullest.

  • I have time this morning, so I lay back down, close my eyes, and think on my day. I go over my affirmation flash cards and begin to prepare breakfast.
  • I usually stick to Trader Joe’s granola as I found it’s actually better than some I have tried, but while out some days ago, I decided to pick up a Kroger brand. Not bad, but definitely lacking clusters, which I love about granola.
  • Anyway, I pour me up a bowl, chop a medium banana, and pour in my ice-cold soy milk. This, to me, is such a treat. I sometimes can’t believe this is breakfast.
  • After, I pack my lunch bag, pulling one of my meal-prep containers from the fridge, filling my water bottle, and tossing in a banana. I begin the rest of my routine and head for the door.
  • • • •
  • I feel great. I walk with purpose. My thoughts are on what I want, and I’m getting better at thinking that way.
  • I jump on the bus, take a seat, and turn on Mr. Hill. Before I know it, I hear “Van Ness” and know I’ve missed my stop. No worries — I have time and walk the two blocks to my destination in joy.
  • I am better now. I notice the changes even in little things: how I respond and how I choose to react, if I decide to react. I have changed.
  • My work day is productive, and me and my teammate get things done.
  • • • •
  • After work, I head home but decide to take an alternative route. Would you believe me if I told you I discovered another bus line that’s actually closer and gives me a backup option if my main line ever passes me up? I’m glad I found it and take a mental note. I get home quicker than usual.
  • So I dash back out and grab my copy of “Dear Writer” by Maggie Smith — a wonderful book so far, very informative and filled with lessons. I plan to use a lot of her teachings slowly in my next bodies of work, but for now I like my writing style of telling you guys about my days.
  • On the way back home, I did something that even surprised me. (Spoiler: I pulled out my phone, flipped the camera on me, and recorded exactly how I felt in that moment. If you want to check it out yourself, click the link below.)

  • Today has been a good day. I feel as if everything is working out for me. And it is.
