Today I write. I no longer tell myself, “You’re not ready.” I am doing this right now. No planning, no plan — just what comes to me. I will go with it.
I have always enjoyed writing for as long as I can remember. I didn’t fare well in English classes growing up, but still I was interested. I know I need to practice, and the only way to get better at a thing is, well, to do it!
I have had enough of putting off what I want to do because I’m overcoming being a self-critical perfectionist. I will push through trying to make everything so perfect. It’s true — it’s never a right or perfect time. If there is something in your heart you want to do, then JUST DO IT.
And today I choose just that. All of this might not make a lot of sense, but I want to be an author. I want to publish a book. I know I can do it, and every day I will write just a little bit more.
To whoever reads this, even if it’s just one: Thank you. It truly means the world to me that even if it’s one person, someone read my words.
